ABLEDATA

ABLEDATA is a federally funded project whose primary mission is to provide information on assistive technology and rehabilitation equipment available from domestic and international sources to consumers, organizations, professionals, and caregivers within the United States. The site includes an online library with references to a wide variety of books, articles, papers and other paper and electronic publications that deal with topics relating to assistive technology such as reviews of products; research to develop products and improve existing ones; guidance for selecting assistive products or finding information about funding; or general information on a class of products.

After Ed

After Ed TV is a web-based video channel produced by EdLab at Teachers College, Columbia University. New content is published weekly, including news, documentary, and editorial segments. After Ed TV is syndicated - you can get code to put our syndicated player on your website - and available for free. EdLab produces weekly content for After Ed TV, supports collaborative production at Teachers College, and invites submissions. We publish content for students and teachers of all ages who want to better understand the education sector and the changing nature of education.

AJL's Jewish Valuesfinder

The New Jewish Valuesfinder, published by the Association of Jewish Libraries, is a free, online, and easy-to-use guide to Jewish values in children's books. Its an ever-expanding database currently lists over 550 books recommended for preschool through high school. Each book is analyzed for the Jewish values it contains, as well as for its content areas. The database can be searched by author, title, illustrator, publisher, Jewish values, subjects, grade level, and year of publication. A book bag feature allows lists of selected titles to be printed and used as bibliographies. Another very useful feature is the descriptive and critical note that accompanies each title. AJL's New Jewish Valuesfinder is for teachers, librarians, clergy, parents, and everyone who cares about what Jewish children read.

Annenberg Media Learner

Annenberg Media uses media and telecommunications to advance excellent teaching in American schools. This mandate is carried out chiefly by the funding and broad distribution of educational video programs with coordinated Web and print materials for the professional development of K-12 teachers. It is part of the Annenberg Foundation and advances the Foundation's goal of encouraging the development of more effective ways to share ideas and knowledge. Annenberg's multimedia resources help teachers increase their expertise in their fields and assist them in improving their teaching methods. Many programs are also intended for students in the classroom and viewers at home. All Annenberg Media videos exemplify excellent teaching.

Apple Learning Interchange

Apple's social network for educators. Features interactive content for the classroom, including lesson ideas, curricula, videos and other media.

The new Apple Learning Interchange (ALI) is a set of free resources for educators that provides a single access point to find media and ideas for classroom activities produced by their peers, by Apple, and by Apple content affiliates like NASA, The Smithsonian, and the George Lucas Educational Foundation. Educators can connect with each other through simple searching, messaging, iChat and collaborative publication tools, and they can submit projects as simple as classroom snapshots or as complex as multi-page abstracts for assessment, enhancement, and peer review.
