"This New Month" - JCC Association's Early Childhood Curriculum Initiative

This site provides information related to the Jewish months and encourages JCC early childhood educators to exchange ideas about teaching techniques, curriculum development and related monthly themes. A team of early childhood educators and Jewish education specialists provides information about each month and insight into early childhood education practices and theories. The site also features songs, activities, recipes, an d and early childhood message board.

12Tribe Films Foundation ("12Tribe Films") is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting creative projects about the Jewish people and the land of Israel that connect, entertain, and inspire. An indexed collection of online material made by teachers for teachers, the site includes tools and resources for professional development and integrating technology into the curriculum, such as Web Worksheet Wizard (create a worksheet, lesson, or class webpage) Trackstar (develop annotated online lessons that guide students through select sites); and, Quiz Star, (design custom quizzes that learners can take online); other tools include rubrics and checklist for Problem Based Learning, and more.

A Lexicon of Learning

After Ed TV is a web-based video channel produced by EdLab at Teachers College, Columbia University. New content is published weekly, including news, documentary, and editorial segments. After Ed TV is syndicated - you can get code to put our syndicated player on your website - and available for free. EdLab produces weekly content for After Ed TV, supports collaborative production at Teachers College, and invites submissions. We publish content for students and teachers of all ages who want to better understand the education sector and the changing nature of education.

AJL's Jewish Valuesfinder

The New Jewish Valuesfinder, published by the Association of Jewish Libraries, is a free, online, and easy-to-use guide to Jewish values in children's books. Its an ever-expanding database currently lists over 550 books recommended for preschool through high school. Each book is analyzed for the Jewish values it contains, as well as for its content areas. The database can be searched by author, title, illustrator, publisher, Jewish values, subjects, grade level, and year of publication. A book bag feature allows lists of selected titles to be printed and used as bibliographies. Another very useful feature is the descriptive and critical note that accompanies each title. AJL's New Jewish Valuesfinder is for teachers, librarians, clergy, parents, and everyone who cares about what Jewish children read.

American Jewish Archives

The Jacob Rader Marcus Center of the American Jewish Archives is committed to preserving a documentary heritage of the religious, organizational, economic, cultural, personal, social and family life of American Jewry.

The Archives was founded by the late Dr. Jacob Rader Marcus in 1947 in the aftermath of World War II and the Holocaust. It was created at a time when the Jews of America, now the largest and best educated Jewish community in history, faced the awesome responsibility of preserving the continuity of Jewish life and learning. For over a half century, the American Jewish Archives has been preserving American Jewish history and imparting it to the next generation.

American Jewish Historical Society

An Ethical Start

An Ethical Start™ is based on the book “Pirkei Avot - Ethics of the Fathers”. It is an educational program developed to teach Jewish ethics and values to preschoolers. An Ethical Start™ was developed by the Jewish Community Center Association, which was funded in part by the Steven Spielberg Righteous Persons Foundation.
The program is developed through exploration of the text, “Ethics of Our Fathers,” environmental enhancements, multi-media exploration through music, books, Peer K doll and the emergent curriculum.  It is implemented in various JCCA preschools nationwide.
