Technology: A Means to an End

There has been a lot of buzz about technology in the classroom: What is the purpose of using it?  When should you use it?  How should you use it?  In this next section of the blog we will attempt to start the discussions on these questions.

In 2006 The Jewish Education Project (formerly the BJE of New York) attempted to answer the first question of the purpose technology serves in the classroom.  In their document White Paper: Jewish Learning in the Digital Age the writers set out to make a case for the use of technology in the classroom.  The paper was developed by a consortium of Jewish educators.  You can access the paper by visiting the link on the Berman Jewish Policy Archive.

Food for Thought:

Do you agree with their argument that the means of teaching needs to reflect the present realities of the learner?  If yes, does the use of techonology fulfill that need?

How has technology affected how the learners in your classroom learn?
