About the CECE

Written by Steven Kraus

JESNA’s Center for Excellence in Congregational Education (CECE) strengthens and improves congregational and inter-congregational education for children, youth, and their families by supporting and assisting the efforts of congregations and their leadership, central agencies for Jewish education, the national religious movements, and others.

JESNA strives to strengthen and improve congregational and inter-congregational education for children, youth, and their families by supporting and assisting the efforts of congregations and their leadership, central agencies for Jewish education, the national religious movements, and others.

Working with its local and national partners, in particular, the religious movements and the Association of Directors of Central Agencies for Jewish Education, JESNA:
  • advocates for excellence in congregational education
  • develops tools, resources, knowledge and training programs to support improvement efforts
  • incubates pilot initiatives to test new ideas and address persistent challenges, and
  • helps those involved in congregational educational improvement learn from one another and undertake collaborative activity.
